As part of The University’s 50th birthday, we are celebrating the last 5 decades of fantastic music from the 60’s through to today’s hits. Be sure to get there early enough to see all these bands take the stage!
4.00pm - 4.45pm - 60's Style - Total Addiciton from The Waikato Rivertones
Total Addiction is a group of singers from one of New Zealand’s leading barbershop choruses - the award winning Waikato Rivertones . Tonight they will be performing songs from the 60’s, where the Beatles were born, psychedelic colours were in and the girl groups reigned supreme.
5.00pm - 5.45pm - 70's Style - Enigma
Enigma are a five piece covers band playing hit songs from throughout the decades. For the ASB Nightglow at Waikato University, Enigma will be playing hit songs from the 70’s and will be sure to have the crowd singing along.
6.00pm - 6.15pm - The Royal New Zealand Airforce
The Royal New Zealand Air Force will be conducting a flying display in a CT-4E Airtrainer. The Airtrainer is fully aerobatic and is used by the RNZAF for initial pilot training. Rated from +6 to -3 G the CT-4E has been in service with the RNZAF since 1998. Tonight's display is performed by a senior flying instructor from Central Flying School.
6.15pm - 7.00pm - 80's Style - SQZ
SQZ are back again for the 5th time doing what they do best, 80s music! They are going to bring back some of the most memorable songs from some of the biggest bands of the time. It will be a dynamic mix of music from the Pop one hit wonders all the way through to the Glam Rock that epitomized the close of the 1980s era.
7.15pm - 7.45pm - 90's and today - The Monroe's
The Monroe’s are a truly world class band having performed in both INDIA....and Invercargill. This is one band that will excite your senses and exceed your expectations. Performing a set at Balloons over Waikato that takes in the 90’s and today expect all the popular hits that are in the charts right now and a few from decades past. Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and much more!
7.45pm - 8.20pm - The Glow!
The main attraction! The balloons present a stunning light and sound show all to the theme of this year’s Party On theme under the direction of our creative producer Trevor Graham from the UK.
8.20pm - 8.30pm - The Fireworks
The final fireworks finale! Waikato pyrotechnic master, Dr Martin van Tiel creates another magical display to cap off the evening’s entertainment.
8.30pm - 9.00pm - Today's music continued - The Monroe's
The Monroe’s will give a final performance with more hits from the 90’s and today
